I am pleased to inform you that you have been nominated by the United Nations Developement Program (UNDP), to assist in running the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) Patronage for Academic Continuity Education Scheme (ACES) 2009.

The Education Sector of UNESCO, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation, granted its patronage to the Academic Continuity Educational Scheme. In April 2008 the Assistant Director-General for Education of UNESCO, Nicholas Burnett, anwered positive to our request for UNESCO’s patronage for aces which was putted forward by the British Commission for UNESCO and supported by the national UNESCO Commissions of the aces partner countries all over the world.

In his letter of approval Mr. Burnett stated:

“I am very pleased to grant UNESCO’s patronage to the ACES initiative, which is fully in line with UNESCO’s mandate and objectives of fostering quality education for all through the development and dissemination of innovative ways of providing education centres and learning aids for students across the globe.” (Paris, 28 April 2008).

The aim of this programme is to create opportunity for students (especially the less privileged) to have free “aces” to quality education, as well as young adults to acquire skills and improve their

talents in all ramifications. This is part of the United Nations milleinium global development goal, in the aspect of enviromental

education (EE). As one of the nominees, you shall be saddled with the responsibility of setting up an education/vocational training centre within your enviroment. This project shall be fully sponsored by the United Nations Organization. It is important for your notice that this nomination does not imply that a duty have been imposed on the nominee, as you have the right to either accept or decline this offer.

If you accept this nomination, the sum of three hundred and fifty thousand GBP (£350,000) shall be made available on behalf of the UNESCO PATRONAGE for ACES 2009. This is to enable you conduct a thorough research and come up with a comprehensive quotation on everything that would be needed to establish an educational/vocational training centre of internationally acceptable standard within your enviroment. As soon as we recieve your quotation, the office for programme planning, budget and accounts shall provide funds for the immediate commencement of the project.
